Michael Shaowanasai’s Revisits.

Michael Shaowanasai

At The Art Center, Office of Academic Resources, Chulalongkorn University

On Display: December 22, 2015 – February 6, 2016   Tuesday December 22, 2015 Talk: 5.30-6.30 pm Opening Reception: 6.30-8.30 pm

Thai multidisciplinary artist Michael Shaowanasai proudly presents his new collection of objets d’art. This electric body of works derived from years of study and observation. The concept of Michael Shaowanasai’s Revisits points towards the artist’s view of life and the events he has invited in and has got involved with in his existence. With the backdrop of The Art Center at Chulalongkorn University, where he made his debut in the early years of his career, Shaowanasai considers this special exhibition as “site specific.”   The series of works presented has been created in different time frames and yet each piece has become a self-portrait of the artist. This collection of scattered ideas reflects how his thinking process has fermented and formed the unrelated relation in the overall picture of the exhibition.

Like a traveler who has seen the path along his journey, Michael Shaowanasai’s Revisits will serve as a return to the origins and then a new departure in his artistic life. The exhibition will mark the end and also set the beginning of another journey that we all have decided to take, traveling around in circle with the hope that one day we will finally reach the destination of our destiny.
