The Art Center, Chulalongkorn University proudly presents “Love in a Platinum Frame”, a painting and art object exhibition by Yuree Kensaku, the new wave of Thai contemporary art scene. She comes back with a latest outstanding exhibition. It focuses on her creative and technical experiments which lead to a series of bright, colorful paintings and art objects. This exhibition expresses Yuree’s various perceptions of love through querying the existence and the preservation of love itself. Her works present sensitive topics concerning human’s separation and loneliness. She explores these topics through vivid colors which can be explored directly from her paintings and art objects.
Regarding her creative processes, Yuree identifies herself as a narrator who communicates imaginative stories or fictions through paintings and art objects, instead of conventional literature. Her imagination becomes the most important element of her works. Besides, she is also inspired by her own past experiences, daily life, and surroundings, especially media culture in our society.
Yuree Kensaku is a Thai-Japanese artist and graduated from Visual Arts Department, School of Fine and Applied Arts, Bangkok University . Her previous solo – exhibitions include Brand New “Tee–Rak–Hak–Liam–Hode” at the Art Gallery of Bangkok University, 108 Paths to Vanity and It’s Spiritually Good! at 100 Tonson Gallery in Bangkok.
Last year, her work was auctioned at a charity event organized at Mori Art Museum in Tokyo . In 2007, she will hold a solo exhibition at the Yokohama Museum of Art, one of the established art museums in Japan.
The Art Exhibition “Love in a Platinum Frame” starts from April 9 th to May 12th 2007 at The Art Center Chulalongkorn University, 7th Floor, Center of Academic Resources Building, Chulalongkorn University.
Gallery opens Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The opening reception will be on April 20th 2007 from 6.30 p.m. onwards.
Work Shop

Yuree Kensaku and Dr. Supavee Sirinkraporn invite deaf children to visit Love in a Platinum Frame exhibition and encourage them to produce paintings and art objects. Their artworks will be shown at the Art Center from the 19th of April 2007 onwards.
Lecture series

2. Title: Cultural interpretations through the eyes of a farang.
Speaker: Stephen Pettifor
Both lecture series are focusing on the cultural aspects in relation to Yuree’s latest works.
